Sales & Project Engineer

Fibre optic interconnections division

Job description

This position entails responsibility from first contact with a customer or potential client through to forecasting and preparing a contract, and involves creating a new product or fine-tuning an existing one, preparing a price offer and negotiating with the client. In the course of managing projects, it is necessary to maintain close contact with all company departments from marketing, product management, production and logistics up to the quality and finance departments. As the company exports 99% of its production, use of fluent spoken and written English is mandatory.

Key responsibilities

As Sales & Project Engineer, you will be required to:

  • Make appointments with existing customers and potential clients
  • Communicate technical solutions, product development, prepare price offers
  • Cooperate with product management on new product designs
  • Take a part in or lead a project team
  • Record activity into CRM software
  • Discuss forecasts, logistic plans, prices, payment terms and contracts with customers
  • Coordinate quality claims and notifications with the quality department
  • Cooperate on marketing activities such as new catalogues, product sheet specifications, webpages or presentations
  • Prepare the company for participation at international exhibitions
  • Prepare lead, project and sales analyses


Applicant requirements  

  • Slovak resident
  • Technical university education
  • Communication and negotiation skills in English language – Upper intermediate level
  • Confidence in approaching new contacts
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical clients
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
  • MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) – advanced
  • Good communication skills, confidence and motivation
  • Industry and product knowledge is highly desirable
  • Determination and the drive to work towards targets
  • Good presentation skills
  • Assertiveness
  • Experience in a commercial environment is desirable
